I wanted to give up today
The pain was too deep
I couldn’t see how I could make it work

My heart felt empty
My head was full

She couldn’t get through to me
I was too far away

I was fighting for control
I lost control

Events weren’t falling into place
I criticised and judged
I compared

I let go
I cried
I surrendered

I heard a tiny whisper

“Something is on the cusp
This is the shedding away once more
You have felt this before
It had the same external intensity
It has the same internal confusion and pain”

I breathe
I wait
I surrender
I trust
